My Brother the Racist
11:51 pm
It’s a tumultuous relationship, I can’t lie. I see him as a brother, he sees me as black, but a good black - lol- not like the black involved in BLM (Black Lives Matter).
My brother, stuck living in the same house, breathes the same air. Who is logical in all except accepting others with different beliefs and skin tones.
He would never trade his skin for mine but tells me I unjustly cry about injustice towards my skin. “Be happy, why are you complaining society treats you a certain way?”
How do I get him to understand we are tied together against choice? That acceptance of differences is key to survival.
Does he want me to survive? Does he wish me well or would he like his knee on my neck?
Walk away, I’m told. He has a different opinion or belief (almost as if he lacks a heart) but what good will that accomplish. Religion says convince the unwilling sinner.
He’s against religion too.
What should I do? What should I say?
To my brother, the racist.
